It sounds like it's time for you to found your own Shakespeare in the Park in whatever far-flung corner of the city in which you live and begin at a very early hour and end before the sun has gone down so you don't have to hire some a**hole lighting designer.

I highly doubt that "the public" is as demanding as you are or else they wouldn't still be going in droves to see the shows in Central Park.

It's never been a "convenient" theater experience: lining up (sometimes all day) for tickets; dealing with the vagaries of weather; sitting in less than plush seats.

If it's unenjoyable, then don't go.
