|* NBC's ''Hairspray Live!,'' which starred Harvey Fierstein and newcomer Maddie Baillio, scored Emmy nominations for Costumes, Lighting, Makeup, Production, Technical Direction and, aptly, Hairstyling. (Oddly, no Choreography nomination for Jerry Mitchell.)
* Comedy Central's ''Drunk History'' scored with its ''Hamilton'' episode, in which a tipsy Lin-Manuel Miranda recounts the story of Hamilton and Burr; it's up for Directing and Production Design. And Miranda is nominated for Guest Actor in a Comedy for hosting NBC's ''Saturday Night Live.''
* ''Feud,'' the FX miniseries about Bette Davis and Joan Crawford, tied for the 2nd-most Emmy nominations (18), including Jessica Lange, Susan Sarandon, Alfred Molina, Stanley Tucci, Judy Davis and Jackie Hoffman. Ryan Murphy is up for producing, writing and directing.
* Tony Awards (2016), hosted by James Corden on CBS, got nominated for Special Class Program, Tech Direction and Writing of a Variety Special.
* There are too many Emmy nominees with Broadway ties that I won't even try to name them, but I'll single out one 2017 Tony winner who got an Emmy nomination: Kevin Kline, who was cited for his Character Voice-Over work on Fox's ''Bob's Burgers.''
