This has been widely reported, and it's both a head scratcher and expected. On one hand, this show mostly employs people of color. A good thing. And yet, it's a show that cannot seem to cast actors who actually come from the specific countries and ethnicities -- traditions -- portrayed. I keep getting a Juanita Hall* vibe here. Yeah, the show does not lean exclusively on white actors. But surely it should by now reflect "Arabian nights" by using ... Arabian knights. And Arabian women.
*African American (and great) who infamously portrayed both Tonkinese and Chinese-American women.
