|I'm so happy that ''Cry-Baby'' did ''A Little Upset,'' that prison dance number, on the Tonys, so there's some record of it. Watching those athletic and amazing performers do handsprings and tap with license plates strapped to their feet was fantastic and such fun. I still think Rob Ashford should've won the Tony for Choreography (as he won that prize at the Outer Critics Circle and Drama Desk Awards).
What a cast: James Snyder, Elizabeth Stanley, Harriet Harris, Christopher Hanke and Alli Mauzey (she's a riot singing ''Screw Loose'').
And what a score by David Javerbaum and Adam Schlesinger. I gotta get that studio recording they made (with ''88.4% of the original cast'').
More theaters should discover and do ''Cry-Baby''; it's such a terrific and tongue-in-cheeky show!
