Oh yes, I like said originally, I adore both songs. Fredrika's The Glamorous Life as a stand alone song is just marvelous, and witty and touching, sweet and soaring, sad and fun. I just really don't think the two songs work when mixed together into one, especially when they cut back and forth quickly from one to another toward the end of the song. I haven't seen the film version but once years ago and I thought it was JUST Fredrika's version in the film... are you guys saying they do a mix of the two in the film?
Anyway, I like the song so much, and I think that Fredrika could use a song especially one that gives us insight into Desiree. I wonder if there's a place for it in the show on it's own... the book is so tight the way it is, but maybe after the scene in Desiree's dressing room? It has to be before Desiree comes to her mother's house of course.
But the version, which I assumed was the film version/recording, that is added as a bonus track on the OBC album is the one I know and adore... and of course Audra's concert performance of it is absolutely incredible.
