Kevin Kline: 36 Year Span between Tony Wins -- Longest on Record?
Posted by: BroadwayTonyJ 01:24 pm EDT 07/16/17

Kline won Tonys in '78 for On the Twentieth Century and in '81 for The Pirates of Penzance. There was a 36 year span before his win this year for Present Laughter. Has any other actor experienced such a long period of time between wins?

Patti LuPone kvetched in 2008 that it took her 28 years after her Evita win in '80 to score another one for Gypsy, but Kline beats her by 8 years. Is he the champ?
