Not crass to me

Movie star salaries (and salary inequities) are front page news. TV stars hold production hostage in public displays for higher salaries. I hear people constantly talking about something called "sports" whose participants seem to make an awful lot of money. So why is it wrong to discuss Broadway salaries as related to Broadway stardom? No one is asking for tax returns, or total annual income including voice work and residuals and personal appearances, etc. I think it's a legitimate topic of discussion.
