I have no desire to start an unwinnable argument. But I do believe that it is possible, even in the internet age, to surprise an audience. And for ONE (out of dozens) of my shows, part of the audience's pleasure was in not having some information in advance. It would have been a pity to have denied them that pleasure. In the vast majority of cases, there's no reason not to go ahead with the usual practice of distributing Playbills in advance. But there is the very occasional exception.
