"Kicks and Co." was, supposedly, admired (according to Brown's obituary in "The Guardian") by the likes of Martin Luther King, Jr. and Eleanor Roosevelt. In another article about Brown (which I've linked below), it states that portions of "Kicks and Co." were given air time on "The Today Show" in 1960 with Dave Garroway hosting. Garroway was so taken with what he saw that he devoted the remaining two hours of the broadcast to promote the ill-fated musical and to try to raise more money on its behalf.
